To celebrate my birthday this year I decided to book a cabin with Getaway. I saw the simple ad on Instagram and I began to sift through their pictures.
Birthday celebrations are not my thing. I usually allow the day to pass and go without any fuss. This year felt different for me and I needed to mark this year in my life.
Therefore I decided to do something I’ve never done. I traveled to a city I’ve never even thought about to experience something new.
This tiny cabin in the middle of the Catskills was a life changer.
I arrived at my tiny cabin via Amtrak and a local taxi. I listened to an inspirational audio book and enjoyed the scenic views. The journey was about an hour and half on the train with an accompanying taxi ride for twenty minutes from the Catskills Train Station.
Then I finally arrived at Neva(all the cabins have names) and I was elated. The cabin is rustic and the camping area was very quiet. I’m a city girl and my first thought was, ‘Wow this is nature nature.”
Neva from the front door. The driveway and picnic area.
The cabins are not too close and I felt safe. If you’re driving you can easily park in the driveway. There is a picnic table area and fire pit across from the cabin.
This birthday was a transitional moment for me. Life isn’t easy and it’s definitely not easy for me and I needed to take a breath.
Actually I didn’t need to take a breath, I needed to learn how to breathe again.
I exhaled for the first time in a long time. I needed this and this was my chance to escape.
Shall we go inside? Let’s explore the inside of my Getaway Tiny cabin next.
