Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia

My experience entering the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church was surreal. A historical church, steeped in history. Beautiful craftsmanship and stained glass.

Ebenezer was founded in 1886, nine years after reconstruction ended. A band of thirteen faithful people united under the leadership of the Rev. John A. Parker. Rev. Parker served as Ebenezer’s first pastor at the original site on Airline Street from 1886 to 1894.

There is a barricade that you can’t cross at the front of the church. You can still enjoy see everything around the alter.

When you enter the Ebenezer Baptist Church you can hear Dr. Martin Luther King’s Jr speeches. We sat in the pew to listen to the speech and to take in all the emotions of the moment.

During the tour we were able to walk around. You can walk freely and take your time as you read the different exhibits.

Having the opportunity to have a glimpse of American History was a complete joy. At the end of the tour we went to the basement area to see some historical items from the church’s long history.

The Ebenezer Baptist Church was a complete pleasure to visit and experience.
