Motor Crush Volume 1 Graphic Novel Review

Motor Crush by Brenden Fletcher, Cameron Stewart and Babs Tarr is a wild ride!

Domino Swift is a street racer in the World Grand Prix (WGP). She battles for wins and fame legally. On the flip side she also does illegal unsanctioned races, The Cannonball, to get the prize Crush (an engine accelerant).

Motor Crush is chaotic and beautiful. Domino is a likable free spirit. She’s brash and tender, she means well even with her bad decisions.

The action begins with us getting a glimpse of Nova Honda, the racing capital of the world.

Domino is the daughter of ex WGP champ Sullivan Swift, he runs a bike shop. Big Sully’s Bike Shop is both shop and home on the ocean banks of Nova Honda.

We are swiftly introduced to some of the regulars in The Cannonball underground circuit. This is where we get to see Babs Tarr’s beautiful art burst from the pages.

Domino is victorious, but there is no celebratory rounds of drinks. Lan, a new mechanic at her Dad’s shop, was caught stealing Crush. Lan was made an example and we see how deadly the underground scene really is.

Events begin to spiral out of control when Domino’s Crush stash goes missing.

Domino has a secret and a badass ex-girlfriend named Lola. Actually Lola is in a bind. Lola and Domino become entangled once again and they hit the pedal to the metal.

Bad guys are on their tail and Domino is at the center of it all. We learn some family secrets and Domino makes a hell of a rash decision! Domino’s choices might backfire on her.

The end of volume one of Motor Crush has me ready to read volume two! I can’t wait to see Domino’s secrets unravel.

Poe Dameron and Finn: Star Wars Funko Pops

Star Wars is such a vast and expansive universe. I remember watching the films on television during my twenties, but I didn’t become excited until I saw The Force Awakens. I began to watch the movies again and I fell in love with the universe George Lucas created. Poe Dameron and Finn are my favorite characters in the trilogy.

The formula that I follow is once I’m hooked in… it’s time to buy merchandise! Logically my next step was to purchase some Funko Pops! My Star Wars Funko Pop collection is growing. I have a few more I want to collect and then I will share my collection!

Resistance Fighter Pilot Poe Dameron

Poe Dameron is pure tenacity. He’s fully on 100% all of the time. The energy and life that Oscar Isaac gives to this character is amazing. This Funko Pop is from The Last Jedi movie. The Pop is still available on Amazon.

Finn aka FN-2187 former Stormtrooper

Finn, FN-2187 which was his Stormtrooper given name. The fondness I have for Finn only grew as the trilogy progressed. A rogue storrmtrooper joining the Resistance? YES, affectionately played by John Boyega. This pop is still available on Amazon.

This dynamic duo were staples in the trilogy. There bond and commitment to each other and The Resistance was unyielding. Many of us can recall scenes where they gave each other the confidence to persevere through the continued conflicts.

Poe Dameron and Finn are substantive characters. I’m sure I am not the only one waiting for The Tales of Finn and Poe Dameron to hit DisneyPlus! I’m a very optimistic person. Stormpilot loyalist here, I can admit it.

Eco Friendly Bags and Bookmarks: NBB Goods

Eco Friendly bags and bookmarks are some of the fun items I have currently in stock at my new store. NBB Goods is my newest baby. Creating a store where I can showcase all the items I use and love was a must.

Avid readers like myself enjoy buying bookmarks. The metal bookmarks at NBB Goods are a smooth metal and well crafted. A bookmark is a great gift for a teacher or teenager.

Many of our supermarkets and convenience stores are bag free. There is a need for having a reusable and sturdy option. That’s why I chose these bags. A reusable and Eco Friendly bag is a great option for produce and other items.

Setting up the store with Etsy was a smooth process. I designed my storefront and listed my items with ease. Etsy also offers an advertising service to get traffic to your shop.

It’s such a joy to stock my shop with goods that I think everyone can appreciate and use. Eco Friendly bags and bookmarks are my first two items. More goods to come and I am excited to grow my little shop.

A Getaway in a Tiny Cabin, Let’s Take a Look Inside

You would think that I would be an expert after all the tiny cabin shows I’ve watched. I don’t know what I expected from this Getaway Experience, but I was surprised. Inside the Getaway Tiny Cabin you will find all the comforts of home.

The lock is secure and you receive the entry key prior to arriving. I felt safe, that was very important to me.

The kitchen area is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The sweet touch of a personalized welcome pack and a s’more’s kit were a welcomed treat.

You step up into the bathroom.

The bathroom is surprisingly big. Inside the stainless steel shower, you will find all the basic necessities.

Don’t worry if you like your room a little toasty. It has a heating/air system. I like my room to be about 72 (Fahrenheit) and the tiny cabin gets heated very quickly.

There is also a small table and chair, but I spent most of my time on the wonderful bed! The Getaway Tiny Cabin has a king sized bed, which is the length of the window.

The most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in.

Have you ever slept without worry? Without the weight of the world on your shoulders? This bed was an experience. The pillows and the duvet were a heavenly combination.

I didn’t wake up and I didn’t toss during the night. I just slept and my body was grateful.

A Getaway in a Tiny Cabin, Let’s Explore Together

To celebrate my birthday this year I decided to book a cabin with Getaway. I saw the simple ad on Instagram and I began to sift through their pictures.

Birthday celebrations are not my thing. I usually allow the day to pass and go without any fuss. This year felt different for me and I needed to mark this year in my life.

Therefore I decided to do something I’ve never done. I traveled to a city I’ve never even thought about to experience something new.

This tiny cabin in the middle of the Catskills was a life changer.

I arrived at my tiny cabin via Amtrak and a local taxi. I listened to an inspirational audio book and enjoyed the scenic views. The journey was about an hour and half on the train with an accompanying taxi ride for twenty minutes from the Catskills Train Station.

Then I finally arrived at Neva(all the cabins have names) and I was elated. The cabin is rustic and the camping area was very quiet. I’m a city girl and my first thought was, ‘Wow this is nature nature.”

The cabins are not too close and I felt safe. If you’re driving you can easily park in the driveway. There is a picnic table area and fire pit across from the cabin.

Greetings from the bed window!

This birthday was a transitional moment for me. Life isn’t easy and it’s definitely not easy for me and I needed to take a breath.

Actually I didn’t need to take a breath, I needed to learn how to breathe again.

I exhaled for the first time in a long time. I needed this and this was my chance to escape.

Escaping before everything changed.

Shall we go inside? Let’s explore the inside of my Getaway Tiny cabin next.
