I was not planning on collecting the Junji Ito Funko Pops. One day I saw the preview for Tomie and I knew I needed this series.
Junji Ito is a master of horror manga. Ito crafts stories that are filled with compelling art and fantastical plots. My introduction to his world was through Tomie. Tomie’s Funko Pop is what drew me to the collection. Game Stop had a Tomie Acrylic Action Figure and it was a great piece to place next to the Pop.
Next is Yuuko (Slug Girl) definitely my favorite of the Junji Ito Pops. The details are great on this pop. Similar to Tomie, Game Stop had Yuuko’s Acrylic Action Figure. The acrylic displays add to the shelf display nicely.
The tales of the irregular supermodel and misfit conjurer. Ms Fuchi is not your typical model and this not your typical pop! She’s creepy and wants your full attention. Souichi, expert voodoo practitioner and iron deficient weirdo has two different pop choices. I chose the pop with him nibbling on his nails and holding his voodoo doll, the convention exclusive.
Junji Ito’s Funko Pops deliver the macabre.
