Given Episode 11: Song 2 Anime Review

“Well I lie and I’m easy
All of the time but I’m never sure why I need you
Pleased to meet you” Song 2 by Blur

I love how Sato didn’t beat around the bush. There is no grey area, he likes him more than just a friend and now it’s time for Uenoyama to speak his feelings.

Uenoyama defers inward to ground himself. The battling consciences of Uenoyama was beyond funny. Though he was against band mates dating before, he’s now in this predicament with Sato.

Sato and Uenoyama head to Nakayama’s apartment to get his blessings for their relationship. Uenoyama is very dedicated and realistic.

Kaji is very chill and he gives Sato some music. The boys walk and Uenoyama tries to be the gentleman and holds the box to Sato’s home.

Uenoyama dodged a bullet! He really isn’t ready for alone time with Sato.

Scared Little Turtle

It’s nice to see Hiiragi and Shizusumi hanging out with Sato. Sato has a smart mouth and it ticks Hiiragi off and he’s adorable.

Take is not only a promoter, but he’s a photographer too! The guys are complete cheeseballs and can’t contain their embarrassment.

Nakayama has a quick chat with his salon friend and he looks beautiful with the braid. He wants a significant other, he wants it be Kaji though.

We also see a sweet surprise birthday party, which Kaji thought was a great idea. They are more than band members, they are friends!

Sato and Uenoyama walk home from the birthday party and Sato wanted to hold Uenoyama’s hand…he popped his lid. “He bought me cotton candy.”- stuff that boyfriends do.

Can you imagine having deeper feelings of your friend and you aren’t able to profess your feelings? This scene was so eye opening and I really think Kaji knows that Nakayama likes him. But, we don’t know if the feelings of affections are mutual.

The final scenes are of Sato and Uenoyama talking about their plans and of course the next song Sato writes. The subtle inserts of their friends and family were thoughtful. The stairwell…where everything began!

The season finale! Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that this amazing anime gets a second season!
